Just pics and just because

The Christmas dress. Sometimes I feel guilty making Anna wear tights because I myself refuse to wear them, but I only do it because it is cold outside. . . Okay, and I think they are too cute.

Daddy giving Anna a bath

Don't you love it when you think, "Hey my baby is being a little too quiet. I better go check on her it." And then you find them asleep. Success.

Our buddy Carter

One day a week Carter comes over and plays with us. I love having him over and not just because he is a good kid, but also because it gets me excited about all the things Anna will do one day. He is the best kid. Totally well behaved, good listener, and best of all he is always happy.

Carter loves playing with Anna

Carter eating a teddy graham to which afterward he wanted to share with Anna.

Fav pic of them. He asked to watch a movie so he sat on the couch right next to Anna and is holding onto her foot. I have no idea how Anna convinced him to give her a foot massage. She can't even talk yet. That takes skills :)

Ode to Dance

Last weekend we went down to Provo and watched Dancesport, a ballroom competition. One word, bittersweet. It was so exciting to watch my friends and other dancers I have been following compete, but naturally it made me miss dancing. My last Dancesport was in March when I was four months pregnant. It was kind of surreal attending this Dancesport with a cute little baby in my lap. My old dance partner Travis came along with Chase and me. Travis is a big reason why I loved dance so much. He was hardworking, dedicated, optimistic and so funny, so I really enjoyed competing with him. But a bigger reason why i enjoyed dance so much is thanks to Chase. After we were married it was a sacrifice to have me keep dancing, but Chase was so incredibly supportive. I am indebted to him for the rest of my life. What a guy?

Anna loved watching the dancers. She sat there wide eyed and didn't make a peep. Since it was going to be a long night, halfway through we dropped Anna off at Uncle Chase and Aunt Valerie's to play.

Here are some pics from the competition

Callie and Daniel dancing the samba

Ashley and Lance during the rumba. (Ashley and I became friends on our Nauvoo tour. I adore this girl!)

Taking a bow

Chelsie (one of my favorite roomates) and Chase (not my Chase of course:) dancing the waltz. We are so excited for Chels and her finacee. Wedding is this December. Woo Hoo!

Caleb and Christina before they start the tango. This was the first year they made it to the Amateur Standard final. I was so excited for them!

This is Jenna Johnson dancing the paso doble. One of the most exciting dance experiences I have had was watching her compete in the 2009 National Youth Latin Competition. Jenna and her partner Casey Treu had made it to the finals and were competing against the Russian couples who always dominate, but Casey and Jenna took first. The crowd went nuts! It was like watching the underdog being awarded the gold medal. She continues to be one of my favorite competitors to watch.

And why not? Here is a flashback to March 2010. My last dance competition.

HALLOWEEN UPDATE

Anna didn't exactly have a Halloween costume, but she got some garb from Grams and Aunt Joy that she wore to the Trunk or Treat. Actually she wore this outfit a lot in the month of October. I loved it.

(the shoes are also from my mom. She made them herself. Thanks to grams Anna has many pairs of shoes to accessorize with.)

GET THE 411 ON ANNA

She is smiling all the time now. It is the best. She always smiles at Chase when he sings to her (so precious) and I can get her to smile when I make frog noises. (Ribbet, ribbet) Although she is smiling a lot I have been trying to take a picture of it, but I am always one second too late. Until I took this picture. Victory!

So cute!

How can you not kiss this baby?

Anna falls asleep on her own really easily if she is sitting up. I have no idea why, otherwise she likes to be swaddled. Anna is now sleeping through the night. Awesome is an understatement. I feel like a new person and thought of having another kid in the future doesn't sound so crazy.

It's totally off center because I took the picture. Anna loves to sit on this pillow on our bed and watch her daddy get ready for work. She does it every day.

I love how puffy her hair gets right after her bath.

Anna is three months old. She has discovered that she can actually control her own hands, which means she is sucking on them most of the time. She loves when people talk to her and likes to talk back. Anna loves to be held up in the air like Superman. She could suck on her pacifier all day long (and I don't mind). She loves to be held by Chase.

I DID IT!

I started a blog. I have been wanting to start a blog ever since Anna was born, but Chase and i could't think of a title for the longest time. So we settled on this one. I like it.
I think it will grow on Chase.

We have had a really fun weekend. Friday night we drove down to Provo to see our good friends the Cross's. Chase went to the basketball game with Stephen and Cindy and Anna and I hung out and met up with Sarah. I was excited to have them meet Anna.

Saturday My brother Coby and his wife Brandy came down for the Utah game. (Although it turned out to be a totally lame game.) I got to watch their beautiful baby girl. Maybe all aunts feel this way, but I adore my nieces and nephews. I used to live next to the oldest ones, but now I only get to see them a couple of times a year. I wish it was more.

Sunday we headed up to Ogden for a Jones family get together. Anna get to meet a lot more of her great aunts and uncles. And we, as at all Jones functions, ate some delicious food. I love eating other people's food.

Cousins! For young babies they actually played really well together.
