Nauvoo Reunion

The summer of 2009 the BYU Ballroom Dance Company went to perform in Nauvoo for two weeks. It was a blast! I feel About half the crew was able to make it to the reunion. It was so good to see all of them and introduce them to my family and our newest addition.

Logan and Menolly kept Chad very happy. Anna also had a good time being chased around by Logan. I love it when other people entertain my kids.

A Lovely Weed and Putnam Visit

Papa and Grandma Weed, Uncle Landon, and Aunt Leah, and cousin Logan all came for a visit to to see the handsome two-week-old Chad Weed.

Okay so maybe Logan only came to see Anna. I have never seen someone so excited to see their cousin. It is so sweet. They hugged and kissed each other all night long.

I am so glad Anna has a cousin her age.

Babies holding babies

Chad loved having his head rubbed. He rolled his eyes to express his utter contentment.

And the aerial view of said head rubbing. That is one happy baby.

Anna's Latest Thing

The toddler years are always showing some new activity of interest for Anna. The latest is holding as many items as possible, no matter what they are..medicine, stuffed animals, whatever is in reach.

I am just going to go ahead and assume that toddler kleptomania is a common habit.

Anna:" Klepto-what? Sounds like made-up word Mom."

Miss you Mom

Anna and Grams

Two wonderful weeks have come to an end. Mom, aka Grams, went back home to Denver. I am flying solo. It's pretty much how I thought having two kids would be. Which is why I wouldn't mind if my mom wanted to come back for a couple more weeks :)

Chad and Grams snuggling while Mom is blissfully napping

Anna loves Grams. They also shared a room while Grams was here. Anna became really attached to her roommate.

Snuggling before going to bed

This one is random, but I had to get a picture of Chase and Anna playing tug-o-war with her pacifier, it was hilarious. (In case any germophobes are reading this blog, Chase never put the pacifier in his mouth just the handle)

So Not Worth It

Wouldn't it be so fun to have just one or two cute Christmas pictures of the kids? That's what I thought. Turns out it's impossible to take a picture of a toddler and her baby brother. So for your enjoyment here are some pictures from the "adventure."

After putting a dress on Anna she kept trying to leave. (I think she thought it was time to go to church. Too bad it was only Wednesday.

I tried giving her a toy, but then I got no smiles.

This one is probably the best, but I just wanted one smiling picture

This picture says it all

Me: "Anna give the baby kisses"

Me: "Woa! Too much love"

This one is kind of cute, except it was taken at a weird angle.

One happy, one sad. Sigh

I already deleted over half of the pictures that since they were out of focus. Toddlers certainly like to toddle, especially during picture time

I did get one good pic

Grams is in town

My Mom is spending two weeks taking care of all of us while we adjust to our new family of four. She is amazing and has been doing everything. I'll I have to do is eat, sleep, and feed the baby. In other words I am doing really awesome, but am dreading the day when I have to face the reality of having two kids at home.

Not only has Grams introduced Anna to silverware, she did it the right way, with razzleberry pie!

Anna + whip cream = 1 quiet and busy toddler (which also equals one happy mama)

Not only did Grams take care of Anna and took her on some outings, she put up all my Christmas decorations.

And Grams made sure that all of us are getting enough sleep. Love you Mom

Our Santa Baby

I am not really sure who CJ looks like yet.

Sleepy Santa

Anna practiced her unwrapping skills on a package from Great Grandma Jones, affectionately called "GG"

It's hard to see since she is so insistent on cuddling her present, but Anna got an adorable sock monkey ornament from GG this year.

Chad Jones Weed

I was getting a little worried when Wednesday had passed and there was no sign of him coming. I was in full labor on Anna's due date so I had naively assumed Chad would follow the same pattern. But instead I got to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Chase and his parents. It was wonderfully relaxing and delicious. Friday I called my friend Ashley to join me in a long two hour walk in hopes of burning off some Thanksgiving calories, but really to maybe get things going. She had us go up and down all these hills. I was embarassed how hard I was breathing, but it all seemed to work. I had some contractions that night, but was disappointed when I slept all through the night with no more contractions. I woke up the next day, got Anna out of her crib and the contractions never stopped coming. (I was so relieved to officially be in labor) He came twelve short hours later (and I am not being sarcastic, time really did go by fast)

Chad was born Saturday November 26 at 7:47pm. He weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 21 inches long.

We delivered him at the Riverton Hospital where my midwife Julie works.

Mama and baby. Love you Chad!

The reality of having two kids didn't hit me until I was uploading the pictures and saw this one. I can't believe there are four of us.

Grandma Weed and Chad

Grandpa and Grandma Weed with Chad.
I was so grateful and relieved that Anna was able to stay with her grandparents during our stay at the hospital. Thank you so much!

Thanks for visiting us Ashley! (and for helping me induce labor)

I wish I had a shirt for Anna that said "Big Sister." Funny thing is that don't make Big Sister shirts that small. Huh...I guess people don't usually have babies 16 months apart. Who knew?

So far Chad has been doing great and Anna is adjusting pretty well. The moment she first laid eyes on him she couldn't stop smiling. She loves trying to hold Chad when he is awake, but when he is asleep Anna just goes about her daily business of getting into all the drawers and watching Elmo.
